Athmik Jeyasekar

Athmik Jeyasekar is a student double-majoring in Economics and International Affairs at American University. His love for the ocean was sparked at a young age while visiting the beaches of Sri Lanka and India. Since then, his interest in ocean conservation has only grown stronger. At Saving the Sea, he hopes to publish meaningful policy to educate stakeholders on sustainable solutions that combat issues like overfishing, plastic pollution, and the destruction of ocean flora. He would like to see blue economy values serve as a framework for marine interaction going forward.

Outside of Saving the Sea, Athmik has a strong interest in immigration policy and also enjoys reading, playing piano, and competing with American University's Model UN team.
