Gabriela Barelli is a student double-majoring in Environment and Sustainability and Performance and Media Arts at Cornell University and serves as a Local Policy Analyst at Saving the Sea. She is a member of the Plastic-Free Cornell organization, spearheading a program to eliminate single-use plastics on Cornell's campus, a role that led her to research the development of Extended Producer Responsibility laws in several states. She is committed to finding ways to involve policymakers through creative initiatives to promote sustainability.
Gabriela has been involved in sustainability since middle school, with leadership roles in initiatives to help endangered species like manatees and owls, including an ecological research experience helping endangered sea turtles in Costa Rica.
